The 1st Key
“Taking super good care of yourself”
Many of us receive the message that it’s important to look after other people, and to nurture and take care of everyone around us. As women, we are often the ones who take on that role in our families and wider communities.
While there is nothing wrong with that… if we don’t begin first, by taking good care of ourselves, we can quickly find ourselves feeling depleted, running on empty and lacking much to give at all.
You might experience that as resentment or frustration towards your partner or those around you (especially if you feel others are asking just too much).
While that may be true, YOUR priority is not to grumble at them, YOUR job, is to give yourself a permission slip, to take some time out, to truly nurture and look after yourself.
I suggest to my clients that self care be number one on their ‘to do’ list.
“Self care” is all the things that give you energy, and it’s about pampering and taking super good care of yourself.”
It doesn’t have to be about spending lots of money or anything that’s time consuming. The most important thing is that you do something, every day, that fully nurtures and nourishes you.
